50 YEARS AT THE HEART OF HAMPSTEAD
2026 WILL MARK OUR 50th ANNIVERSARY
As we look back on the role the centre has played in bringing people together, we are taking the time to look forward to the future, and to ask our local community to get involved in shaping the centre for the next 50 years.

We have started work on modernising how the Centre is run, beginning with a governance structure review. We have also been refurbishing market stalls and carrying out essential maintenance and repairs to the building — investing for the years ahead.
PUBLIC CONSULTATION

We are conducting a programme of public consultation to give everyone in our local community a chance to have a say in the role the Centre should play in future.

Once you have registered you will receive an email with a link to the survey. Emails will be sent out in early November once the registration period has closed.
How can we make sure the Centre remains a thriving local hub, which serves everyone, whatever their age, background or interests?
We're really looking forward to hearing what you think.

SURVEY AND FOCUS GROUPS

Anyone can complete our online survey by registering their interest using the form on this page.
We will also be running a small number of Focus Groups early in 2026. If you would be interested in taking part in one of these, please let us know on the form.

FAQ

Why do I have to register to take part in the survey?
We are a small charity and running a survey can become costly if it is open to anyone. To simplify the process and keep the costs down we are running the survey online and making it available to those who request it by first registering to take part.
If you do not have access to a computer or cannot access the survey online and would prefer a paper copy, we will make these available to collect from the reception desk once the survey has opened in early November.

Why do I have to give my name and postcode?
The charitable objectives of the Hampstead Community Centre are to serve the local community in Hampstead Town Ward but we know that our reach spreads beyond that. We are therefore keen to hear from anyone who has a connection to the local area, whether you are a resident, a business owner or worker a neighbour or partner. You can still complete the survey if you do not have a Hampstead postcode, the survey will allow you to explain how you are connected to the community. In turn, this will help inform us about how our services complement the wider community.

What will you do with my data?
We will use the details that you provide here to let you know once the survey is open and, if you have asked to participate, the dates of any focus groups. We would also like to contact you to let you know when the results of the survey will be posted on our website. You will of course be given the chance to opt out at any time from any further communications from us. Please also rest assured that we will not be sharing any personal data with any other organisations or individuals.

How long will the survey be available for?
Once the registration period ends on 5th November the survey will be available for one month. The exact date will be included in the email you receive with a link to the survey.

How many focus groups will you be running and when will they take place?
We are planning a small number, which will depend on how many people express an interest in taking part. We hope to hold these groups in January 2026 and expect to hold both daytime and evening groups. Registering an interest does not mean you have to take part, and more information will be provided nearer the time.

What will happen once the public consultation is completed?
We will develop a summary report of the findings which will be made available on our website. This public consultation exercise will help us to find out what matters most to the local community and help us to plan for the future.
